Project Information

Australia’s biggest public transport project undertaken by NSW Government and Sydney Metro in coordination with John Holland CPB Ghella Joint Venture (JHCPBG) will deliver 31 metro stations to Sydney, constructing more than 66 kilometers of new rail. Stage 2 of the project will connect Sydney Metro Northwest at Chatswood under Sydney Harbour to new CBD stations and south west to Bankstown; a 30 kilometre extension.

When the service is complete in the second quarter of 2019 customer’s will be able to catch a train every 4 minutes during peak periods and enjoy eleven upgraded and seven new metro stations. As part of a major upgrade to Sydney’s transport system, Sydney Metro 2 will transport 40,000 customers per hour at peak capacity. This is a major upgrade to the current system reliably carrying 24,000 people an hour per line.

PBS Contract Specifics

PBS Supplied nine acoustic enclosures for the Sydney Metro 2 Project in 2017/18 rated up to a 48db transmission loss at 500Hz (Rw 36).
